Explore the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, including the Daintree River, Cape Tribulation Beach, a rainforest boardwalk, a freshwater swimming spot and the Bloomfield Track. The day also includes a Daintree River wildlife cruise and a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company.
The one-hour Daintree River cruise provides an opportunity to spot wild estuarine crocodiles and a variety of native birdlife. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, as the animals are wild and conditions can vary.
Yes. The tour includes an opportunity for a freshwater swim in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. Swimming is optional and is subject to weather, water conditions and local safety advice, so bring swimwear and a towel if you'd like to take part.
Day Two heads west from Cairns through the changing landscapes of the Atherton Tablelands and Queensland Outback. Highlights include Skybury Coffee Plantation, the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves, historic mining towns, Aboriginal rock art, the Chillagoe Smelter Ruins, Balancing Rock, Granite Gorge and its wallabies.
Yes. The Chillagoe Caves experience is included, with an expert local guide taking you through the cave system and explaining the area's geology and history. The caves involve stairs and uneven ground, with the cave tour taking approximately an hour.
Yes. Lunch is included on both days of the package. Day One includes lunch in the Daintree Rainforest, while Day Two includes an Aussie Outback pub lunch in Chillagoe. Morning tea is also included during the tours.
Children aged 4–16 years are welcome. Children under four are not catered for on the regular tours, although private charters may be available. Parents should also consider that the Outback day is a long day and includes stairs and uneven ground inside the caves.
A reasonable level of fitness is recommended, particularly for Day Two. The Chillagoe Caves involve approximately an hour of walking, including stairs and uneven surfaces. The 4WD may also travel over uneven roads, so passengers with serious back problems should discuss their requirements with ua before booking.
Bring comfortable clothing, flat walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a water bottle and a camera. For Day One, bring swimwear and a towel if you want to swim. A raincoat or umbrella is also recommended during the wet season.
