Day 1: Cairns to Cooktown via Wet Tropics & Atherton Tablelands
After pickup, travel over the Kuranda Range for spectacular views across Cairns and the Coral Sea. Continue by 4WD through rainforest and river crossings to the Clohesy River World Heritage Rainforest Boardwalk, where you'll see a giant Strangler Fig. Travel through Mareeba, Mount Molloy and Mount Carbine to Bob's Lookout, stopping for morning tea along the way.
Continue into the Savannah Country for lunch at Palmer River Roadhouse, then head north along the Mulligan Highway past the mysterious Black Mountains. Turn off-road to visit historic Archer Point Lighthouse before continuing to Cooktown for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore Cooktown & Take Bloomfield Track to Cape TribulationAfter breakfast, explore historic Cooktown, including a visit to Grassy Hill Lookout and the Captain James Cook Museum, showcasing the town's fascinating Indigenous, European and gold-rush history.
Continue to the iconic Lion's Den Hotel for included lunch and time for a drink at your own expense. Then travel south towards Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest along the 4WD-only Bloomfield Track, stopping at scenic highlights including Bloomfield Falls and Cedar Bay National Park.
Arrive at Cape Tribulation for a beach walk and visit to Kulki Lookout before continuing to your overnight accommodation.

Day 3: Cape Tribulation to Cairns / Port Douglas via the Captain Cook Highway
After breakfast, visit Thornton Beach for a walk and photo opportunities beneath the spectacular Thornton Peak. Continue to Alexandra Lookout for panoramic views across the Daintree River, Great Barrier Reef and Snapper Island.
Cross the Daintree River by cable ferry before enjoying a one-hour wildlife cruise, looking for crocodiles and native birdlife with a local naturalist guide. Continue to the Daintree Tea House for lunch, with Barramundi and exotic tropical fruits among the menu options.
After lunch, travel south to Mossman Gorge for an extended guided walk exploring the rainforest and learning about Kuku Yalanji culture. Finish with a scenic drive along the Captain Cook Highway, with an optional stop in Port Douglas, before returning to your Cairns or Port Douglas accommodation in the early evening.
