The reef day includes your cruise aboard Evolution, snorkelling equipment and flotation devices, lycra/sun-suit hire, around five hours at two outer reef locations and an Aussie BBQ lunch. The rainforest day includes return transfers, a Daintree River wildlife cruise, guided rainforest walk, lunch, a freshwater swimming stop, Cape Tribulation Beach, the Daintree River cable ferry and visit to a tropical fruit ice creamery.
No. One of the advantages of this package is that the two tours do not need to be taken on consecutive days. When booking just let us know in the notes which dates you want.
You'll travel aboard the 35-metre Evolution superyacht to two Outer Great Barrier Reef locations. You'll have approximately five hours at the reef to snorkel, swim, relax and explore the marine environment. The vessel has air-conditioned indoor areas and spacious outdoor decks, so there is plenty of room to enjoy the journey as well as the reef itself.
Yes. Unlimited snorkelling is included on the reef day, along with snorkelling equipment, flotation devices and complimentary lycra or sun-suit hire. The reef sites visited are selected according to the conditions on the day to provide the best possible experience.
Yes. Snorkelling is optional, so you can simply enjoy the boat, reef scenery and time at the outer reef without entering the water. Optional activities are also available, including introductory or certified scuba diving, marine biology experiences and scenic helicopter flights.
The rainforest day is a full-day guided adventure in a custom-built 4WD. You'll cruise the Daintree River looking for crocodiles and wildlife, visit Alexandra Lookout, walk through the ancient rainforest with your guide, enjoy lunch in the rainforest, stop for a freshwater swim and visit Cape Tribulation Beach. The day also includes the Daintree River cable ferry crossing and a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company.
The one-hour Daintree River cruise provides an excellent opportunity to look for wild estuarine crocodiles, along with birds and other wildlife. Because the animals are wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed, but your cruise guide will know where to look and will explain the river's unique ecosystem and wildlife.
Yes. The itinerary includes a freshwater swimming stop in the rainforest. Swimming is optional, so you can simply relax at the location if you don't wish to enter the water. If you would like to swim, bring your swimwear and towel.
For the reef day, bring swimwear, a towel, hat, sunscreen, water bottle and a change of clothes. For the rainforest day, bring comfortable clothing, flat walking shoes or sandals, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, water bottle, towel and swimwear. A raincoat or umbrella can be useful during the wetter months.
Both tours require only a beginner level of fitness, although you should be comfortable walking on uneven rainforest surfaces. The guided rainforest walk is approximately 1km and takes place at a leisurely pace. If you want to snorkel on the reef, you need to be able to swim and have a basic level of fitness.
Yes. Lunch is included on both tours. On the reef day, you'll enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch with options including seafood, steak and tropical salads, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. On the Daintree day, lunch is served in the rainforest. Dietary requirements should be advised when booking, or at least 48 hours before travel.
