This three-day Cairns package combines three very different Tropical North Queensland experiences: a full day exploring the Great Barrier Reef, a full day discovering the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, and a full day travelling into the Outback to explore Chillagoe, its caves, historic mining country and Granite Gorge.
No. Swimming is not a requirement to participate in the reef cruise. Snorkelling is included and flotation equipment is available, while guests who prefer not to enter the water can remain on board and enjoy the vessel and reef surroundings.
Yes. Unlimited snorkelling, snorkelling equipment and flotation devices are included in the package. Lycra/sun-suit hire is also included. Optional activities such as introductory or certified scuba diving and a helicopter scenic flight can be added at an additional cost.
A BBQ lunch is included, with the current menu featuring prawns, fish, steak and tropical salads. Tea and coffee are provided on arrival, and a complimentary glass of wine and light snack are provided on the return journey.
The rainforest day includes a Daintree River wildlife cruise, a guided rainforest walk, lunch in the rainforest, a freshwater swimming opportunity and time at Cape Tribulation Beach. The tour also crosses the Daintree River by cable ferry and includes a visit to the Daintree Ice Cream Company.
The one-hour Daintree River cruise provides an opportunity to see wild crocodiles and local birdlife in their natural environment. Wildlife is naturally unpredictable, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Yes. The itinerary includes an opportunity for a freshwater swim in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. Whether you swim is completely optional, so you can simply enjoy the rainforest surroundings if you prefer to stay dry.
The Outback day travels west from Cairns through Mareeba and on towards Chillagoe. Highlights include morning tea at Skybury Coffee Plantation, Chillagoe Caves, Aboriginal rock art, historic mining towns and smelter ruins, Balancing Rock and Granite Gorge, where you can see wallabies. An Aussie-style pub lunch is also included.
Yes. The tour includes an opportunity to explore the famous Chillagoe Caves with a local ranger guide. The caves are part of the broader Chillagoe-Mungana National Park experience, with the tour also covering the region's limestone formations and geological history.
Transfers depend on which day and where you are staying. Daintree transfers from Cairns, the Northern Beaches and Port Douglas are included. Cairns transfers are included for the Outback day, while additional charges apply for Northern Beaches and Port Douglas transfers. Reef transfers are not included and incur an additional cost.
