The historic railway winds through the Wet Tropics rainforest and mountain scenery on its journey between Kuranda and Cairns. The route features spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, gorges and rainforest.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, insect repellent and a water bottle are recommended. A light rain jacket is also useful when visiting the tropical rainforest.
