The minimum age for the full-day Mossman Gorge Adventure Day is 5 years. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian, and their swimming ability, fitness and the current river conditions may be taken into consideration.
The Welcome Ceremony provides an opportunity to connect with the culture and traditions of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people, the Traditional Custodians of the Mossman Gorge area. The experience includes a traditional smoking ceremony and rainforest body paint, along with insights into traditional customs and native plants.

The guided Mossman Gorge walk is generally considered easy to moderate. It covers approximately 3km and includes a combination of boardwalks and natural paths, with some steps and uneven sections. The guided walk takes approximately 1.5 hours at a relaxed pace.
The tour is classified as active and requires a reasonable level of fitness and mobility. Guests walk on uneven surfaces, travel through the river and participate in the River Drift. It is not suitable for people with significant mobility limitations or recent injuries.
The recommended maximum participant weight is 110kg (243lb) because of the equipment used.
Bring comfortable walking shoes suitable for uneven surfaces, swimwear to wear underneath the wetsuit, a towel, comfortable tropical clothing and any personal medication you require.
