The Kuranda Scenic Railway is a historic railway journey through the Wet Tropics rainforest, travelling through mountain tunnels and along steep rainforest-covered terrain between Kuranda and Cairns.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, sunglasses and a water bottle are recommended. A light rain jacket is also useful in the rainforest.
