The tour includes return boat travel from Cairns, all snorkelling equipment, seasonal wetsuits or stinger suits, prescription masks, more than two hours of snorkelling and locally sourced afternoon snacks.

The tour departs from D Finger at Cairns Marlin Marina. Check-in is required before the 12:00pm departure.

The half-day experience runs for approximately five hours, from 12:00pm until around 5:00pm.

The tour includes more than two hours of snorkelling time at the selected Outer Great Barrier Reef location.

The afternoon tour visits one carefully selected reef location. The skipper chooses the best available site from a selection of 15 locations based on the conditions on the day.

Possible locations include Sudbury Reef, Moore Reef, Thetford Reef, Pretty Patches, Breaking Patches and Upolu Reef, among others. The final location depends on conditions.

Yes. Guests must be confident swimmers and able to swim approximately 50 metres without additional flotation assistance. The tour is not suitable for non-swimmers.

Yes. Children 6 years and over can participate, provided they are confident swimmers and comfortable in an open-water environment. Children must remain under parental supervision.

Yes. Masks, snorkels and fins are supplied, along with prescription masks. Wetsuits are provided during the cooler months and stinger suits during the summer season.

Locally sourced afternoon snacks are included. Soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available for purchase from the onboard bar.

Yes. The purpose-built vessel travels at around 24 knots (44 km/h) in normal operation, with speed varying according to weather and sea conditions.

The tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility, or for people with certain back, neck or hip injuries. The operator also states that the tour is not suitable for heavily pregnant guests.
