Aquarium by Twilight is an exclusive after-hours experience at Cairns Aquarium. A wildlife educator guides you through the aquarium as Tropical North Queensland's animals transition from daytime activity to their nocturnal behaviours. The experience includes access to 10 tropical ecosystems, from the mountains and rainforest through to the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea.

Check-in is at 3:00pm, with the guided tour beginning at approximately 3:15pm. The tour finishes at around 5:15pm. Dinner (if selected follows)

Rather than simply viewing the exhibits during normal opening hours, Aquarium by Twilight focuses on the transition from day to night. Your wildlife educator explains how animals change their behaviour as darkness approaches and how nocturnal species begin to become active.

Yes. The experience is available to children aged 3–14, with an adult fare applying from age 15. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If an infant requires a meal during the dinner component, Cairns Aquarium advises booking a child fare.

The dinner is an optional upgrade. You can book the Aquarium by Twilight tour on its own or choose the package that includes the three-course dinner at the aquatic-themed restaurant.
