Birdworld Kuranda is a walk through rainforest immersion aviary featuring more than 350 birds representing almost 60 native and exotic species. Many of the birds fly freely throughout the habitat.

Birdworld is home to species including Amazonian macaws, rainbow lorikeets, galahs, cockatoos, Eclectus parrots, finches, water birds and Southern Cassowaries, along with many other Australian and exotic birds.

Yes. Bird food can be purchased at the admissions counter, allowing visitors to hand-feed many of the friendly birds within the aviary.

Yes. Birdworld has a secure enclosure for its endangered Southern Cassowary, a male named Jimmy.

Yes. Birdworld encourages photography and describes the aviary as a great place for wildlife photography. Keep in mind that birds may fly very close to visitors, so take care with cameras and other personal items.

Yes. Some parrots, particularly macaws, are attracted to shiny objects. Visitors are asked to remove jewellery and avoid tempting birds with items such as glasses, phones or pens. A storage shelf is available at admissions.

There is no set time limit for a standard admission visit, so you can explore the aviary at your own pace during opening hours.

Birdworld is currently open 10:00am–4:00pm daily, except Christmas Day.
